N64 World Rankings

How are points calculated?

This leaderboard lists the world's best all-round SM64 speedrunners.

Players earn points from their current position in each of the five main N64 categories: 120 Star, 70 Star, 16 Star, 1 Star and 0 Star.

  • 1st place earns 100 points.
  • 2nd place earns 99 points.
  • The score decreases by one point per place.
  • 100th place earns 1 point.
  • Players outside the top 100 receive 0 points for that category.

Combined score

A player’s points from all five categories are added together. The maximum possible score is 500.

Weekly movement

Green and red markers show how many places a player has moved since Monday. They recalculate after every hourly leaderboard refresh and reset when a new weekly baseline is recorded.

Ties and anonymous runs

Tied players share the same category rank and receive the same points.

Anonymous runs still occupy their correct position on a category leaderboard, but they are not given a combined player ranking because there is no persistent account to identify them (especially if two or more anonymous runners exist).

Together, these rankings highlight the strongest all-round N64 players while encouraging greater competition and participation across all five main categories.

Only original N64 runs are included. Virtual Console, emulator and All Platforms results do not affect this table.

A message from Denotu

Welcome back to MarioRuns

Phew! It’s been a while, but I finally decided it was time to bring back MarioRuns.

For those who weren't around in 2013, MarioRuns was the original SM64 leaderboard website, filled with guides, resources, forums, streams and more.

SM64 has always been close to my heart. It's been fun watching new runners emerge, WRs get beaten and the game continue to be pushed further than any of us could ever have imagined.

I decided to bring MarioRuns back for those who want a compact, lightweight and lightning-fast alternative to SRC, without the bloat, ads or clutter.

I’ve also added a few quality-of-life features, including weekly rank movement markers, instant player search, more accurate time formatting for .000 runs, and the new N64 World Rankings.

How MarioRuns stays fast

For now, my plan is to keep MarioRuns focused on being a simple, faster leaderboard alternative. Because speedrunners appreciate...speed...right?

Cool. That's about it anyway. If anyone wants to reach out, you can find me on Discord.

Cheers,
